Awards Nomination Process and Qualifications

Lulu Awards nominations are made by Friends of Lulu members each year. The final list of nominees is determined by a Vetting Committee made up of members of the Friends of Lulu Board of Directors who consider eligibility, the number of nominations and other factors. Disagreements or ties on the Vetting Committee are resolved by the full Board of Directors.

In addition to the award, inductees to the Female Cartoonists Hall of Fame receive a lifetime membership in Friends of Lulu. Other award recipients receive a one-year membership in Friends of Lulu.
